Owning a vehicle in the United States, depending on where you live, you are required to have your vehicle inspected for safety or emissions concerns. There are about a dozen states where you don’t have to worry about being regulated in respect to vehicle inspections.

In plenty of other states, you will have to take your car in for an annual safety inspection and / or for emissions testing as mandated by the 1977 federal Clean Air Act.

So if you live where you are required to have annual inspections of your vehicle, be prepared to take your car in to an approved facility. After that, if your car fails the test, you may also be required to spend more money to get your car to pass the emissions and safety requirements.

Here in the South Puget Sound we have biennial emission testing requirement and no vehicle safety inspection requirement. So if You live in Puyallup, Tacoma, Spanaway or South Hill, when you get your vehicles inspected for safety and reliability is up to you, so it is important that you stay on top it. Be sure to have a complete vehicle inspection (like the Inspection included in the I-Care Club) annually on all of your vehicles and you can take comfort knowing your equipment is safe.
